There are many myths about the Victorians and their pompus attitude towards sex. It is said that they did not partake in the darker side of sex, BDSM nor did they do anything untoward. Showing an ankle was way beyond pornographic. And as far as lesbians went, well according to Queen Victoria there was no such thing! She thought that it was impossible that two females could interact in such a distasteful way. Yet during my research when writing my erotic stories The Submissive Scullery Maid and Love for Lidia I came across a dirty little secret that they have managed to keep from us. So in my wisdom I used this information and added it to my books.
These two stories are both romantic and emotionally inspiring and yet even though I have used the lightest of taste of BDSM and sensual erotica I was able to infuse a sexual practice that would seem absurd to some and yet evocotive to others. In its own right it is an act that was kept well hidden from being spoken by the very lips that felt its torture. What are you talking about? I hear you asking me. Well I came across an act called ‘figging’ This act was mainly used by a husband enabling him to spank his unruly wife. He would use a piece of root ginger and shape it so that he could insert it into her anus. This was brought about when his wife had as I said had been unruly. Whilst being spanked she had learned over time to clench her butt cheeks to recieve her punishment in a less harsher manner. But over time the husband learned to put a stop to this and by inserting the ginger root inside her anus it would sting her insides if she clenched her cheeks thus giving him complete satisfaction that he had stung her with his spanks.
In my story The Submissive Scullery Maid I used this such act on one of my female characters. It was during an act of BDSM between two females and the scene itself was well thought out.
It is just amazing what you come across when you are researching in that genre.
