The wheel of the year turns, bringing the joy of spring, the warmth of summer, the richness of autumn, and the merriment of winter. But eight Celtic festivals link these seasons together, bringing with them romance, lust, danger, and even magic. From a city under threat from night-time creatures at Ostara, to a selkie caught by the light of the Lughnasadh moon, to a writer caught in the flames of a fiery goddess at Imbolc.

Eight authors have come together to give their own twist on these festivals, weaving each story with a blend of myth, magic, and contemporary telling…to create A Celtic Tapestry.

Excerpt (Blade’s Magic, Carolyn Wolfe)

He was there, alone in the forest, afraid and desperately unhappy that he had been found and had to escape Aileann’s grip again!  Danie found herself there, a shadow in the dream, following him, watching over him like a bereft lover. She who was fair, with short pixie hair and fleet of foot, found it easy to track him. Danie even knew his name, it was Maxfield Blade and he was the son of a Dark Magician. He did not follow his father’s interest though, and disdained the Black Arts. His father, Tomax Blade, was not to be so easily dismissed and had sent a siren of the night to coax Max back into the fold.   He knew Maxfield had an unusual power. A power that Max was terrified to use. A power Tomax was desperate to control.

Danie woke up with visions of the dream still clouding her mind. She felt hot, yet her body was drenched in a cold sweat.   Danie began to wonder if this dream was not actually a vision of some kind.  This was the time of year when the veil was thin, and portals could be opened to other dimensions. Danie began to wonder to herself,

Could Max belong to another world, concurrent with her own? Perhaps another dimension, or even a world of magic likened to the land of Faery? This question burned in her mind along with the main question of, who was Max to her? Why did she know his story? Why shadow him as if she would be his protector?  Danie had no idea, but was determined to find out the answers to her questions.

Clumsily, she crawled out of bed and left her cabin, walking to the public rest area where she had left her clothes for the Midsummer ritual this morning. She needed to get washed and dressed and to clear her head of those fantastic dream images!

Showered and attired she joined her coven for breakfast and decided she should speak about this to Michael, their High Priest. He was a good friend and had always encouraged members to speak openly with him, about anything.

Guest Blog- Carolyn Wolfe

As an author, I love to be challenged. When I was invited to be a part of a new Moon Rose Publishing anthology, I was thrilled, I was over the moon, and I was terrified! You see, this is my very first foray into the adult romance/erotica genre and I have to admit, I love it! It gives my daydreams a chance to play! The heady mixture of paranormal romance and magical mayhem is a delightful romp to write. I am honored to be in the anthology, A Celtic Tapestry,  which has just been released in March! My story “Blade’s Magic” is about how powerful and magical love can be. It can even cross dimensions! It can create heroes, it can win the day- and it can be sexy!  In this genre, women have come into their own. They are empowered by their own sexuality and fearless when it comes to owning who they are and what they want.

I have always enjoyed strong women characters in books. Some of my favorite authors of all time are:  Marion Zimmer Bradley and Madeline L’Engle. These writers were not afraid to let their main female characters be strong, dangerous and intelligent.   These type of heroic women were the inspiration for my main female character, Danie Grace. She is a woman of conviction, of courage, and dangerously powerful.

My next book project is already underway and it is another paranormal romance involving Shape- Shifters. I have to say I am now totally hooked on writing stories with spice!

Thank you very much for having me as a Guest Blogger today!
